Well PR fans? What did you think of last night’s episode? There seems to be quite a lot of dissent from the designers. Could the judges and designers have such opposite tastes? It was almost unanimous in the design studio that the floral coat and silver leggings that Christopher created to compliment a Phillip Treacy hat were headed for the win, yet when it hit the runway, Christopher landed in the bottom 3. Conversely, no one had a kind word for Michael C.’s bronze gown, with Ivy even calling it a “hot mess,” yet it took the top prize and Michael won immunity for next week.
So what’s really going on? Is this just great television? Or will we see more designer favorites packing their bags?

The pressure is setting in and tempers are starting to rise. After winning the first two challenges of Project Runway, Gretchen started out episode three by proclaiming “I’m a force to be reckoned with.” She did make it to the top 3, but we soon found out that Gretchen is not untouchable. For this week’s challenge of designing a look created entirely from party-store supplies, Andy, with his phenomenal cocktail dress of braided ribbons, took home the top prize, while Sarah was sent home after designing a ‘boring’ dress from cardboard palm trees. All in all, this episode was a colorful one, and the designs were appropriately guest-judged by none other than the queen of color herself, Betsey Johnson.
In between all the judging and the walking and the sewing, were some quintessential Project Runway moments. Follow us after the jump to relive last night’s episode in all its glory.
Season 8 of Project Runway is under way. This past week, McKell was eliminated for her blue floral dress, leaving 16 designers. Now that you’ve had a chance to see what the designers are bringing to the sewing table, who do you think is positioned to take it all this season?

Last night kicked off an exciting Season 8. New designers, new judges, and new challenges. As soon as the designers arrived, the competition was on. Each was asked to create a garment from the most simple of materials – an item from their own luggage. Except they were then forced to pass it to the person on their right, who was tasked with chopping and sewing it into an all-together new creation…in 5 hours!
