We totally heart Lipstick Jungle and could not wait for the new season to start! Can we just say that last night’s premiere for season two did NOT disappoint. To help us celebrate the lovely ladies of LJ back on the silver screen we asked our friends at Shefinds.com to talk about some of the prominent trends and the stylish duds they loved from last night’s episode!

SHEFINDS ON LIPSTICK JUNGLE:

Lipstick Jungle kicked off with a surprising dose of dark humor last night. In the opening, the three leading ladies were tipsily giggling a funeral that we later learn was for Nico’s husband, who she had just learned was having a pretty extensive affair with a student (He got her pregnant! He was paying for her orthodontia!).

But – and it feels a little weird to say – the clothes were stellar as always. Even at the funeral.

Pieces in purple, a fall favorite this year, kept popping up onscreen.

Wendy wears this flattering Alberta Ferretti ruched satin dress ($1,225), and if you watch closely you’ll see Nico in Elie Tahari’s chic, sleek Breydon Dress ($220, was $368). Even Victory Ford’s feminine-eclectic style included the color, in the form of a simple cardigan like this one from BCBG ($138) expertly paired with a full metallic skirt ($325) by Phillip Lim.

The women were also seen sporting several different takes on pearls – Wendy’s ribbon-adorned necklace looks more casual, while Wendy and Nico both paired their black dresses with several strands.

Get Wendy’s new-school pearl look with this satin-wrapped glass-pearl necklace ($48). This tri-strand necklace ($7.80) accomplishes the luxe multi-strand look on a budget, while this Majorica necklace ($795) mimics Wendy’s colored pearls.

When it comes to Sex and the City the Movie one thing is clear: we may love the women, and love their story lines, but fashion is queen! And although we never know whether to laugh or cry alongside Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte or Miranda we know their ensemble will be drool worthy.

If you are anything like me (and all the recent Shoptalkers), you got Carrie-d away by all the apparel, handbags,shoes, and jewelry seen in the film. These items have been on every fashionista’s mind non-stop since the movie’s premiere and the questions are still coming! One of the most recent questions asked was about Carrie’s pearls.

Carrie wears the strand while announcing her engagement to Chris Noth a.k.a “Mr. Big” while shopping in New York City, and even as she climbs into bed for an intimate moment with her fiancee. The strand is prominently shown in the scene where, while seated at her computer pondering feelings about love, she twirls the strand around her fingertips as if it held the answers to her endless questions.

Well ladies the search is over. It’s been confirmed that Carrie’s lovely pearls are by Mikimoto. Specifically, the necklace she wears is the 8.5mm Akoya cultured pearl necklace, 32-inches long, with Mikimoto’s signature clasp in 18K gold which retails for $11,900. Although not available online we found a similar look with the 30″ strand from the same collection with the Mikimoto signature clasp in 18K gold.
