Expert Panel: Model Amanda Fields on The Fashion Show
FILED UNDER: Expert Panel, The Fashion Show Posted: May 11, 2009 by behindtheseams | LEAVE A COMMENTToday we got on the phone with our favorite model Amanda Fields to discuss The Fashion Show. Amanda, whose career has taken her to New York, Milan, Paris and Athens, has plenty of experience in front of the camera too - you can find her in Duran Duran’s “Falling Down” video, as well as in TRESemme commercials.

So what does Amanda think about the catwalk that the models have to walk, the unique judging, and her favorite designers so far?
SO!: The Fashion Show features the models and designers getting ready backstage before the show starts. What do you think about that?
AF:I think it is great. It shows that models don’t just arrive at a fashion show looking like that. It was great to see that they interviewed the team from TRESemme as well.
SO!: Did the judges make the right decision ?
AF: Yes, I think they did. When James-Paul’s dress came out, I thought to myself - “I want to wear that.”
SO!: What was your favorite look?
AF: Merlin’s dress, and I usually don’t go for red and navy together. I really liked his model too. You could tell that she was having a good time on the runway and selling the entire package.
SO!: What was your least favorite?
AF:I could not stand the tube skirts. I would not be happy if I had to wear that skirt. I think that Jonny’s top was the wrong kind of sexy. But I think it is sad that he was kicked off, because he designs a wonderful menswear line.
SO!: What do you think of the actual fashion show and the judging process?
AF: I really like that they are making the decision based on industry opinion. I do think that the stage looks like something from a 90’s rock music video, though.
