SeenON!’s Expert Panel has a little bit of added sparkle thanks to our newest member, jewelry designer Lisa Freede.  Lisa’s jewels have adorned celebrities including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Paris Hilton, so she definitely knows a thing or two about making a fashion statement.

Recently SeenON! interviewed Lisa about episode 3 of Bravo’s The Fashion Show, natural ability and secret jewelry compartments.

SO!: Episode 3 challenged the designers to create a jacket that had an added piece of functionality, such as a coat that could store a travel mug or a jacket that converted into a sleeping bag.  Being a busy stylist and jewelry designer, what piece of added functionality would you want to have in an article of clothing?

LF: I would love to have a secret zipper compartment to store jewelry, keys, license or credit cards.

SO!: On past episodes of The Fashion Show many of the designers were called out for not having the basic skills necessary to be a fashion designer, such as not knowing how to properly sew.  When you were getting your start as a jewelry designer, did you take classes to learn the fundamentals or was it more organic?

LF: It was a natural and self taught ability. I also knew that there was a lack of great jewelry available at the right price.

SO!: This challenge required the designers to create a coat that cohesively addresses every season - Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  What articles of clothing do you think defy seasonality?

LF: Definitely a tank top- a must for under most anything!

SO!: You have lived in Detroit and Los Angeles - two very different climates.  Have you ever found a coat that would work in either city?

LF: A trench coat works well for both cities

SO!: Do you have any tips for those looking to purchase a coat?

LF: I would suggest a long black wrap coat with a belt…not too heavy and it will always look chic!

Make sure to check back on Friday for an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with tonight’s eliminated designer!
