Emmy Women Hits & Misses!

Ahh, the Emmys, my favorite award show of the year! I thoroughly enjoyed just about everything in this years’ show from my favorite red-head, Conan O’Brien, hosting to “The Office” winning for best comedy (deservedly so)! To make sure that I saw who was wearing what I watched the E!’ pre-show with Ryan Seacrest who I want to hate, but is so comfortable in his Mystic Tanned skin hosting that he is now who I turn to for my celebrity fix (sad, but true). I just wish that he would stop acting so clueless when it comes to designers & who they are, forgetting that he’s built his career on his metrosexuality. For shame, Seacrest!

As for the fashion for this year, there was definitely more hits than misses I thought. The trends were soft up-dos, pale lips, and loads & loads of purple. Oprah would be so proud. My favorites for the ladies were Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a white Narciso Rodriguez gown with black accents looking like a complete & total knock-out. It accentuated her 45 year old figure into a 25 year old’s. Helen Mirren was stunning in ther white Morgane Le Fay gown and diamond & emerald necklace from Fred Leighton. Her elegance was timeless & I can only pray that my hair with grow in that gorgeous silvery blonde. Both Julia & Helen being winners on & off the stage was no coincidence.

My choices for the misses were not total disasters overall, but rather botched the full Emmy look. The girls of Grey’s Anatomy looked stunning, but I think I would have done Ellen Pompeo’s hair softer & taken some necklaces away from Sandra Oh. Katherine Heigl was show stopping in her Grecian style gown by Escada & said she felt like a true princess. My ex-neighbor, Cheryl Hines, looked beautiful from the rear, but I thought the front of the Georges Chakra gown was too high & unflattering for her chest. Paula Abdul wore a floral gown that I’m not quite sure who designed, but her hair looked like she might have just arrived from a weeklong bender. She did bring me joy when at the end of the E! show arrivals, she literally just walked away from Ryan Seacrest while he was talking to her. Priceless.
