Today we got on the phone with our favorite model Amanda Fields to discuss The Fashion Show.  Amanda, whose career has taken her to New York, Milan, Paris and Athens, has plenty of experience in front of the camera too - you can find her in Duran Duran’s “Falling Down” video, as well as in TRESemme commercials.

So what does Amanda think about the catwalk that the models have to walk, the unique judging, and her favorite designers so far?

Today we had the pleasure of interviewing designer and stylist Erika Stanley of S.N.O.B. Style about The Fashion Show debut and what she thought about the judging, designers and show format.  Erika, who is no stranger to the entertainment industry (she has styled some of television’s leading ladies), told SeenON! that the concept of the show is very intelligent, and the idea that the designers creating clothing for wearability and sellability is brilliant.  We both agree that the fact that you can buy the winning design online after the show airs is a major bonus! SeenON! is buzzing with excitement over The Fashion Show and things just got better.   I just got off of the phone with contestant Jonny Day. Unfortunately, Jonny was asked to leave the show last night but he was in very good spirits and is such a doll.  Below is what Jonny had to say about the judging, changes he would have made, and future plans.

SO!: How did you hear about The Fashion Show?

JD: I was approached by the L.A. casting panel to be on the show.  They really pressured me to go on it.

Last night The Fashion Show debuted on Bravo, and I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the show. So excited, in fact, that I was able to convince my boyfriend (who is so completely not the target audience for this show) to watch it with me.

The show clearly had to differ itself, and Bravo did a great job doing so. Here’s what I thought were the freshest twists:

Harper’s Bazaar Mini Challenges – These are totally Quick Fire Challenges a la Top Chef. Very creative and fun to watch the designers under pressure.  I must admit I was confused by Laura Brown’s accent, but that’s a-okay because she was responsible for the spread on The Simpsons in Paris, and I am forever amused by that piece.

Designers are judged by an audience of buyers and fashion insiders! – Totally unique twist. I loved hearing what the show attendees had to say after the fashion show. Now if I could fandangle a way to get the boyfriend into that audience. His utter confusion and commentary over the Harlem pants (or Hammer Pants, as he likes to refer to them as) was priceless and would make for some good TV.

Isaac Mizrahi  and Kelly Rowland – Not going to lie, but I was a little scared when I heard that Isaac Mizrahi was going to be a host.  Flashbacks to the Scarlett Johansson red carpet incident immediately came to mind. However, I think that he did an amazing job balancing host and fashion icon He gave straightforward advice in a very mellow and calming way.

Backstage at the fashion show - Great perspective. This truly showed what goes on backstage at a fashion show in its true light. Oh, and watching the models have to squeeze into the tube skirts made me feel so much better about myself.

The music – This is totally minor, but music in reality competition shows makes such a difference. I mean, I still get a knot in my stomach when I hear the Top Chef theme music (oh Fabio, how I miss thee). Seriously, the drum beats were very cool and refreshing for a show of such stress.

Designers meet the challenge in Bravo’s new series, “The Fashion Show.”

Andrew already has success with his designer underwear line “Andrew Christian” but his goal is to take on the world of women’s fashion, creating designs that flatter the female body.

Angel Chang founded her namesake collection in 2006 offering women’s wardrobes inspired by high-tech fashions. such as color-changing prints, light-up fabrics and self-heated linings.

Anna’s personal designs have been worn by stars Rachel Bilson, Shannon Doherty, MTV VJ’s, among others. She currently teaches Fashion Merchandising at Wood Tobe-Coburn.

Daniella has worked with some of the most talented designers in the industry including Luca Luca, Les Chiffoniers and Alexander McQueen.

Haven is currently working on a young girls’ line, Lalu. A graduate of FIDM, Los Angeles, she has also worked as a stylist for the Chelsea Lately Show.

After earning his associates degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, James-Paul moved to London where he honed his craft at the Vivienne Westwood studios.

Johnny is currently the creative director for Welcome Hunter’s, a new concept store featuring edgy designers from around the world. “Fashion should be adventurous. You shouldn’t take it so seriously.”

This self-taught designer is inspired by experimentation and is currently developing a new addition to Elmer Ave menswear collection to fit women dubbed “the doll fit.”

Keith recently launched a line of gently priced cocktail dresses called Keith By Keith Lissner, inspired by his friends in New York and their jam packed social calendars.

Before establishing her own line, Laura worked for Donna Karan’s Urban Zen and As Four. She has styled and designed for Moby, The Scissor Sisters, and renowned photographer Richard Avedon.

A true artist, Lidia is inspired by her Russian heritage, beautiful people, different cultures and art. Her design philosophy is to bring beauty into the world.

Today, Markus holds the title Fashion Director, at the fashion magazine Nolcha and is working on launching his own label of high-end women’s wear, MARKUS KETTY.

Merlin has worked with a number of celebrity clients, including Paris Hilton. This eccentric designer certainly has his own style and knows it, “my fashion is like a fingerprint, I have an I.D.”

Reco is the Creative Director of his own line, “The House of Chapple.” When it comes to fashion tips, Reco declares, “Do it…but don’t overdo it.”
