The wardrobe department at Desperate Housewives tries very hard not to think, ‘Oh my gosh we have to go to so-and-so for shirts,” because I think it does limit you. Obviously we hit all the places we know and love on a regular basis. We go to Armani, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and we also look at the smaller collections like Joie, Free People, Theory…. But by the time you only look at that, even though it’s a huge range of stuff, you miss out and suddenly you find something new. So it’s about finding a balance between knowing that you can rely on certain companies to always have something fabulous and balancing that by constantly being on the lookout for new, wonderful, strange, odd, cool things.

Being the solid American that she is Miss USA, Tara Conner, followed through on her promise to wear Project Runway designer, Kayne Gillaspie’s dress at the Miss Universe Pageant this past Sunday night. And although she didn’t win the crown she made one of a gay pageant designer’s dreams come true & that in itself makes her a winner in my book. According to the Bravo Project Runway website Kayne would love to someday design Oscar dresses for Hollywood a la the likes of Narciso Rodriguez or Yves Saint Laurent. Stay tuned to see if all of his dreams come true in the coming weeks…so far he’s one of my favorites.
